Just bought the 12 cup bean ice coffee maker and can't get the top off - the instructions are inside under the press. This is crazy. Seriously thinking of taking it back.

Not sure what brand of coffee maker you are talking about. Is it a Bodum? Since I don't know for certain the brand, and the model number would also be helpful, it would be difficult to give you an answer.

However, if you bought it from a local store, just bring it back and ask the department manager to show you how to open the lid. If you purchased it online, your options are limited. You could try contacting the merchant, or you could return the coffeemaker. Or, get back to me with the brand and model and I can try to answer your question then.
