Maxwell House International Café Orange

What happened to ORANGE CAPPUCCINO???????The new orange spice latte is crap compared to ORANGE CAPPUCCINO!!!!!!!

It is my understanding that the General Foods International Coffee line is being replaced by the Maxwell House International Café line of instant beverages. Maxwell House has the International Café Orange. Don't know if the recipe is the same as the General Foods recipe or not. Haven't heard any feedback on the taste yet.

You are not alone in wanting the original flavor back. My suggestion is to write or email General Foods and let them know you want the Orange Cappuccino flavor back. Who knows, they might start making it again. Anyone else with any ideas?

I just called maxwell house and talked to a guy who says they have orange cafe in some stores but none in my area. It's not orange cappuccino. I had so many friends that loved this coffee and we have never been able to find another like it. Why don't they do a test run and see how an orange cappuccino does. I'm sure it would be sold off the shelves as soon as all of us discovered it. I drank from the day it came out and could not believe it was discontinued. Gosh, I wish some company would get the recipe and bring it back. The others are just not good.

I too am a huge fan of General Foods international coffee orange cappuccino. I've been drinking it every day for about 28 yrs. I got my Dad, brother and one of my best friends drinking it too. The wife and I tried some of the other flavors when it got scarce before- no joy. I now buy the Maxwell House Orange Cafe in quantity. If they stop making it, we will just stop buying any of their products altogether. Its ridiculous that such a wonderful and popular coffee is so hard to find, while uninteresting flavors abound.

Please General Foods/Maxwell House, keep making Orange Cappuccino coffee!! There's no substitute for me.

Orange Cafe is the only flavor of all of them that I like! It is difficult enough to find it in my area. I had to order it online for a while but one of our local grocers started carrying it again. For 2 weeks, I have been waiting for it to be re-stocked - no such luck. I could order it online again, but it's over $6/container - insane!

I will never understand why a product that sells,
(a lot of times it was sold out on the shelf) has been discontinued.
Share holders....why invest your money on a company that doesn't want to make money?
If its selling...its a good product. And don't throw in high production cost.

I have been drinking this coffee ever since Carol Lawrence advertised in on TV.... (I know, who? An Alpha Xi Delta famous actress back in the day)

IT IS MY EASY SECRET INGREDIENT IN MY RECIPES!!!
Right now, such an affordable way for people to have a coffee treat without waiting in line. One can is cheaper than a similar coffee house drink... but this is sooo much better.

I saw someone is selling it online for $20 a can! Someone is making $$!

Please,please please continue orange cappuccino, I too have been drinking it for 30 years plus. I am a mixer, one scoop of French vanilla-one orange cappuccino. I have also found that orange extract added to French vanilla is a passable solution when I am desperate for a fix. Maxwell House should. Ring back the great commercials that made the coffee so popular.

Yes, please, please, please bring it back! My sister got me hooked on it a few years ago when she visited from Prince George BC! Then it disappeared! Nothing was better than waking up on a weekend morning with a good book and a cup of Orange Cappuccino! I now beg my sister to send me some at Christmas and when she does I have to ration it for special occasions only! Why would you stop supplying Ontario with this delightful , soothing drink? I, too, miss the old Orange Cappuccino, but have become a huge fan of the Caffe D'Vita product line. They offer an Orange Mocha which is good, but distinctly different from the GFIC recipe. There are several other flavors from which to choose. This line is available in most grocery stores; however, not in my city. I order by the case from the Caffe D'Vita website. Check it out!

I am very surprised to see all the comments on this drink. I have been drinking it for years and all of a sudden they changed over to Orange. Now I have adjusted to this drink only to find I can no longer find it in the stores in Idaho. This past weekend a small town had some on their shelf so I bought them all so I have them. With this drink being so popular why would they first -- even change from the original great drink they had and 2) discontinue it altogether or make it so hard to buy. All the stores in my town in Idaho do not have them. I am from Montana and I check the stores there when I go to different stores. My husband said this a.m. so drink coffee instead. I love the Cappucchino and now like the Orange and I don't want to go to drinking regular coffee. I hope someone is reading all these posts who can put them back on all the store shelves. I was beginning to feel I must have been the only one who loved this drink and now know there are MANY out there who love it. Bring it back please.

Looks like many here in comments are in the same boat as I. It looks like International House (old General Mills) isn't listening to the comments here. I've been looking for the 'origianl' Orange Cappuccino, that I started out with and started my day in bed with the paper, and only found it at Target, or Fred Meyers, (with a much heaftier price.) I've had to settle for Orange cafe, but even that is in short supply at our local Target in Burlington WA. I've had to resort to going to the next big towns Target and bought every can they had, (a case and a half) I'm now almost out again, and the hunt is on! So, what gives? Why is it so hard to find?

Good grief ... amazing to find so many people addicted just like me. In fact, I wrote an entire novel called: Orange Cappuccino ... that is how central and important to my life it was. The Orange Cafe seems about the same ... not perfect, but I will take it as an alternative. I was only able to find that at Target, but now I am in Merida, Yucatan and I need to find an online source!

Get on line and go to Londondrugs.com which is sort of a western Canada version of Walgreens

I have had a terrible time finding it in stores in Ontario because so much shelf space is being dedicated to Keurig and Tassimo etc. I bought a case of twelve tins and they were delivered by the post in about seven days. At 4.49 and the dollars basically at par it fills an important gap in my morning routine even if it lightens my wallet a bit...

International Cafe Orange NOT the same

I can't tell you when I started drinking Orange Cappuccino, but first it was just a cup on the weekend then it turned into a daily habit. Still in control though, just one cup a day (well sometimes). When the supply started to dry up I would buy all on the shelf when I did come across some but even that is now gone. Next I sort of got hooked on a caramel flavor but then they stopped that one. Do they not like me?? I think Maxwell House felt some pressure and tried to appease us with their Cafe Orange, Which is better than no orange flavor but it is not the same as the Cappuccino. Pleas return the original formula and let us move on to more important subjects that will bring World Peace.

I have been having a heck of a time finding the orange cafe (formerly orange capuccino). I found a local store that usually has about 3 cans on the shelf, and of course I buy them all. I have asked the manager if I can order a case at a time, and I think maybe this will work. So maybe if you find a store that has it, you can order through them.

I have to make runs to the only store around that still carries it (Target) where I buy multiples at a time!! Please don't discontinue the orange flavor!!

I was delightfully amused to read the many posts from like minded people regarding the disappearance of our "morning moment". I was wondering if there was something chemically wrong with the product and that was the reason it was the only discontinued flavor. It certainly was the only flavor that satisfies the palate. I too have been drinking it since it came on the market. (It replaced the chocolate mint flavor-which I was addicted to before orange became my thing). Maxwell House, please bring this product back on the market...soon!

A dear friend and I never went a day without Orange Cappuccino. It was like part of the special bond we shared..enjoying a warm cup over our newsy chatting. And then, it was gone and nothing like it compares. I've searched EVERYWHERE...
Today I found a can dated Dec 6, 2009 at my husband's business. It's half used up and hard as a rock. So, yes I did, take it home and fixed me a cup. I must admit it lost some of it's rich taste but the flavor was enough to sit back and enjoy. I will tuck the rest away to share with my friend when we met again. :) Hopefully General Foods will see the market for it again. It wasn't too sweet and that hint of orange was great.

I've been enjoying GFIC Orange Cappuccino for over 30 years now. Recently it has been scarce and when I'd see it at my supermarket, I'd buy all of the available cans. I'm down to my last can, so I guess I'll have to look for the Orange Cafe. My wife says she hasn't seen "Orange anything" at the store.

I wish Maxwell house would re-introduce Orange Cappuccino again and make it a regular on supermarket shelves.

after suffering through the orange spiced latte and every other nasty flavor, I am very content with the orange cafe. I will forever be bitter that the original flavor of orange capuccino was cancelled. I have often wondered if, after they cancelled the flavor and tried to sell everyone on the orange latte, and it flopped, if they went back to the original formula but changed the name so they didn't have to admit to the world that they had made a mistake. I am not sure that I can tell the difference between the capuccino and the cafe. Get a can and tell me what you think. I know some people have said they don't think it's as good. Good luck to you!

My question is this; does MHI's Orange Cafe taste the same as GFI's Orange Cappuccino? I see Joan says it's not as good so I'm looking for a second opinion. Fortunately it’s not a desperate situation yet. I happened to notice when GFI was eliminating the original and stocked up before the supply disappeared (3 cans left). Like several others on this page, it’s the only flavor I like and I’ve been drinking it for decades. The comment about GFI’s Orange Spice Latte…yep…its bad…took the can back after a couple of sips and got a refund…yuck. So Gretchen, hopefully you’ll check back to this page and let me/us know if the replacement is as good as the original.

You people have all echoed what I have experienced in the last year, I am so glad not to be alone in my quest! I, too, have thrown fits at the supermarket, got my hopes up with orange spiced latte (blech), and even rejoiced when the orange cafe came out. It is still difficult to find. I was ecstatic when I found it on amazon.com's site "subscribe and save" and I thought my worries were over, I would get 12 cans delivered to my door each month. After my first delivery, I was notified that orange cafe is no longer part of the "subscribe and save" program. If I could find a site where I could buy a case at a time, I would be all over it. I'm getting worried, there are only about 12 cans left in the pantry. I am already scouring the internet, looking for that mythical, elusive case of orange cafe.

Where or Where Have You Gone. I'm 63 and don't talk change good. I have enjoyed this since it hit the shelves. I have searched all groceries, even in different states than Texas when I am visiting. I don't believe you would toss such a great cup...to the wind. It is like Coke trying all the crap they sell and calling it original.

What the heck - where's the orange cappuccino

We have been drinking General Foods International Coffee - Orange Cappuccino - since the early 1980s. We have scowered the shelves of all the supermarkets in our area and can now only find the orange cappuccino at one store and that's only on a good day.

Orange Cappuccino is the only flavor we drink and we are wondering why you are not stocking it in stores. We hope that you have not totally discontinued this flavor and that it will become available again very soon. I actually bought my husband 10 cans for Christmas once I was able to find it, unfortunately we are down to our last drop.

If it is available to purchase on line, please let me know and I will be happy to do that. Thanks

Orange Cafe not as good

I'm also a lover of Orange Cappuchino. I did find some Orange Cafe (on clearance at Target, not a good sign) and it is similar but NOT AS GOOD. I agree with everyone else - why on earth would a company eliminate a product with this much loyalty. How hard can it be to start making a long time product again. I won't be using GFI coffee until they bring back Orange Cappucino (aka never, although I keep checking when I'm at a grocery store, just in case it reappears). All of their other flavors are almost tasteless!

Orange Cappuccino - Come Back!!!!!!

Every morning for thirty-years, we've enjoyed Orange Cappuccino. I can't believe we can't get this product on the shelves. We all would beat-a-path to buy it all up if they did, and at any cost$$$
We must prevail in getting this product on the shelves or an order-only site. We're dying to return to our morning routine of Orange Cappuccino. NO OTHER COMES CLOSE. The new flavors are flavorless and I've wasted money trying to find something, anything, with flavor - nada!
KRAFT, GENERAL FOODS, MAXWELL HOUSE - IS ANYBODY THERE LISTENING TO US "FAITHFUL CUSTOMERS" OF ORANGE CAPPUCCINO!!!!!!! We can't give you are money fast enough - hello!!!!

Every time I'd go to get Orange Cappucino, it would be the one with the least amount of cans left. If I'd get to Krogers when they just finished stocking the shelves with it, I'd clean them out.
Why in the world would you quite making the one that seems to be the most loved? I would buy my son cans of it for Christmas every year. No other flavor even compares. Please bring it back.

Have been a lover for over 27 years! Now you replaced it with Orange Cafe, not as good... I have this every morning and even take it with me while traveling. PLEASE bring back the original Orange Cappacino! When you have as many lovers as I see posted I do not know why you wouldn't!

My favorite breakfast coffee drink for years and years! Still have not been able to find it in Giant Food Stores in Virginia...but spotted it while visiting my family in California this summer...now marketed as "Orange Cafe". I had to pack my suit case with a boat load of "Orange Cafe"...before I returned to Virginia! The TSA folks are probably still scratching their heads! NOTE: Orange Cafe seems a little bit sweeter that the original...let me know what others think?

I truly love your Orange Cappuccino. I've enjoyed it for 30 yrs. plus. And like everyone says why keep trying to replace it with something new.....they can't compare to the original!! You are losing alot of good loyal long time customers.....like me. We all beg you to please bring back our favorite flavor ( ORANGE CAPPUCCINO ).I live in Kingman AZ and would be happy as a lark to be able to find it at Smiths, Safeway or Super Walmart. Gone for over a year....

Orange Cappuccino has been gone for well over a year from my grocery's shelves. I started drinking it when it first came out in the 70's, only to have it disappear sporadically over the years. Learned to stock up when it was available -- sometimes dozens of cans at a time. We never got the Orange Spice Latte here in Pittsburgh -- and the Orange Cafe never made it to any of our stores either. What's an Orange Cappuccino lover to do? Nothing else tastes as good! Contacted GF -- to no avail. They've lost me as a customer until they bring back the original (and best) product.

Orange Cappucino drinker forever!!! 20+..maybe 30, however long it was out!!!....no latte..no orange spice for me......ORANGE CAFE was the saving grace..
got 6 boxes in July..in Louisville, KY...I live in Tennessee....and I am now on my LAST can!!!!...that is sad!!!!....no more here at my Target...what do we do??....it is so easy...all the new flavors are not what WE drank, only drank....and we want/need to
feel that International Coffees are there for the people who love them most!!!...Somebody help!!!!

Original Orange Cappuccino the best!

I was disappointed when you replaced the original Orange Cappuccino with the Latte form. I thought it was ok but didn't like the flavor as much and certainly could do without the foam. Then along comes the Cafe which was a better substitute but still not the best-- the original. Which I just discovered was introduced in 1975. Why change it now? I've been drinking the orange flavor for at least 10 years and got my Mom hooked on it too. PLEASE bring back the original Orange Cappuccino and do it soon please.

General Foods, it's obvious that you have left a wake of hurting, orange cappuccino-deprived victims with your capricious decisions of flavor changes. I drank Orange Cappuccino for nearly 20 years and then it disappeared. Orange Latte was not nearly as good, but after trying many other brands and flavors I settle on the occassional Orange Latte. Then it disappeared! Orange Cafe is a reasonable replacement which I like almost as much as the original, but it has now disappeared! I have bought an expensive coffe maker, again looking for a substitute. WHY NOT TAKE A CUSTOMER OPINION SURVEY BEFORE MAKING A CHANGE TO SUCH A POPULAR PRODUCT? PLEASE BRING BACK ORANGE CAPPUCCINO.

Orange Cappuucino VS Orange Care

I have over 50 cans or International Coffees with the various names of Orange Cappuccino, Orange Spice Latte, and Orange Cafe as I fill these empties with home-ground herbs.

I checked the ingredients of the original Orange Cappuccino with the "new" Orange Cafe (which I had to order on-line because I couldn't find it at our Safeway.) They are NOT the same.

The "new" Orange Cafe is made with Coconut Oil. The old wonderful Orange Cappuccino was made with Soybean Oil. I believe I can taste the difference. It isn't a bad thing to eliminate soy from a product as it's practically impossible to find any processed item that doesn't have soy in it...usually called soy lecithin.

I didn't mind the Orange Spice Latte, but this constant fiddling around with the recipes and the difficulty of finding these products now are irksome....certainly a MAJOR MARKETING Blunder.

Another disaster

The "newest" new Orange Capp product is out (under the Maxwell House name) and it is the worst yet. More foam, and the actual coffee - when you get down to it - has no taste at all. I am now hoarding even the Orange Spice Latte in desperation, hopefully Gen Foods/Maxwell House/Kraft will come around and GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL. Please - this cup of coffee is the high point of my morning and clearly, so many other people feel the same way.

I don't know now if there is ANY orange coffee...whether is be Cappuccino, Spice Latte, or Cafe. Maybe some other major beverage company will realize the market here, and come up with a similar addictive flavor! (Wake up General Foods!)

It's Back...or not?

Finally, its back! Hated hated hated Orange Spice Latte. I bought 12 tins of Orange Cafe just in case they can't remember not to fix what isn't broken. Was steaming mad when the original was taken off the shelf! Yesterday saw a closeout sign at King Soopers on Orange Cafe. What is going on????

I finally have found Orange Cafe, yes I do think it's the same as our sacred Orange Cappuccino - and I'm happy it's back. Thank you GF. Now - stay away from the tins. We like it when you don't mess with us!

My husband does not ask for much, so when he does I try and get it. His ORANGE CAPPUCCINO has disappeared and he is not happy. Please, Please, Please, bring the orange cappuccino back!!!!! I have been a loyal consumer of the orange cappuccino since the 80's. I used a tin every week. First it was removed, then the Orange spice latte with the foaming crystals made me have to change, and now that is gone. What moron in the marketing department decided on new products at the expense of the oldest one that started it all. I have over the years tried other flavors, the Vienna, Francais, Mocha. They suck.
Bring back the Orange Cappuccino.

I agree with those who do not care for the orange latte that came out. I really miss my orange cappuccino it was richer and didn't have a "burn" that I get when I've tasted the other. I really would love it if you at Gen Foods got smart and put the cappuccino back on your line. Until then, I'm not buying the latte! You're losing customers!

I agree with the guy named Jim who said the new Orange Spice Latte doesn't compare to the Orange Cappuccino that I dearly loved. I bought l7 from a place in South Texas because I couldn't find any where I live in Central Texas and now there is NONE to be found anywhere. Please PLEASE manufacture this flavor again. I am not a coffee drinker but I have enjoyed this one so much that I drank some with my neighbor every morning. Be sure HEB warehouse has it and that Taylor, Texas HEB gets it. Sincerely,

I got a letter in the mail from GF apologizing for taking Orance Cappuccino off the shelves and trying to replace it with Orange Latte (which as awful). They said they got so many complaints that they are bringing back Orange Cappuccino under a 'new' name Orange Cafe. I still have one canister of O.C. at home and can't find the new Orange Cafe (I'm going to do a direct taste compairison as soon as I can find my old true favorite under this new name. good luck to all you O.C. fans out there...our voices WERE heard!
